Personality Type:
My personality type is INFJ which means Introversion, Intuition, Thinking, and Judging. I am "inward-turning" and tend to be thought-oriented, enjoy deep and meaningful social interactions and feel recharged after spending time alone. I pay more attention to patterns and impressions. I also enjoy thinking about possibilities and what will happen in the future. I enjoy using facts and data to make educated decisions since I am very logical. Having structure and making good decisions describes myself the best. Some people that also have my personality type are Isaac Newton, Elon Musk, and Ted Kaczynski (The Unabomber).
The part that is right on for my personality type is I regularly require an amount of "private time" to
recharge my batteries. One part that is not very true about myself is that I naturally seek consensus and popular opinions but I actually tend to be very creative and think up new ideas. Overall, this personality type really taught me why the way I act and gravitate towards some things. I am always thinking about the future and enjoy numbers.
My personality type clarifies who I am because when put in a group project, I prefer one on one communication and not with the whole group. Also if we don't finish the project in class, I am usually the one to take it home and do it by myself since that is when I work best. I am very creative and can think of ideas pretty easily but also listen for opinions. I will plan stuff in advance and if something is done wrong I tend to judge people. With my personality type, I haven't had any problems because it balances out the free time and social time very well.
Something I have learned during this project is how different personality types can affect others. You shouldn't make fun of others and let them do things their way. It is hard to work in a group with others that don't want to do the assignment the same way as you so someone needs to step in and take lead. Following instructions is easy for most so having an extrovert as the leader would be beneficial and letting the introverts use their creative minds makes a good team.
The animal that best represents me is a Golden Retriever. This means that my strengths are accommodation, calm, and affirming. Making friends is fairly easy for me since I am very welcoming. Sticking to a daily routine and having security is what I prefer. One trait of a golden retriever is that they are indecisive but this is not true about myself. Also it is hard for me to express my emotions but that doesn't stop me. In conclusion, personality types can help you view yourself better and figure out how you work best.
