Learning: Throughout this project, we used Adobe Dreamweaver to create and modify the website. We had to pick a color scheme that flows and makes the website visually appealing. I chose to use Kansas State Wildcats colors because they are my favorite sports team and I hope to go to college there when I graduate high school. What I thought was the hardest part was coding the colors of the links. You have to copy and paste part of the sidebar code three times but then edit it so it is unique. Changing fonts and text styles was overall easy to learn. Lastly making everything fit on the webpage wasn't too hard because you only have to adjust the dimensions.
Experiences: Doing this project, I thought I did very well. I managed my time wisely and stayed on task making me the first to finish it in my class. I thought my color choices were unique because you usually don't see a website with purple as the main background. If I could do something different about this it would be adding more content to the sidebar because it looks blank and needs improving. Also I could have added the blog to the bouncing ball animation but we didn't have to do one and it would make the page super long.
Conclusion: This project was a good learning experience. Designing a website wasn't as hard as I imagined it to be. At some times, the code could be confusing but after rewatching it a couple of times, it was easy to catch up. I hope we get to make more websites but have them be more advanced. I know this was the first website we had to make so it has to be an easy one that everyone could create. Hopefully next time we get more into the coding because I know you can do some really cool visual effects. Web Design is a very interesting strand of E-Comm and I would like to get more into it.
